Do I have to fast?
The good news is that you do not have to fast before your blood tests. The latest and growing evidence is that fasting is unnecessary because multiple studies have now demonstrated that eating has negligible effects on the measurement of our lipid profiles. In addition, measuring the blood levels in a fasted state does not provide a realistic interpretation of our “real-world” state as most of us spend our waking hours in a post-fed state.
